airports
Oakland International Airport (OAK) is the closest airport to our ceremony and reception sites. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is another option but is further and typically more crowded than OAK. BayPorter Express airport shuttle picks up from both airports and can drop you off directly at The Faculty Club. rates are $23 each way, but please call or use their online reservations system to confirm.
lodging
our Faculty Club coordinator has recommended the following local hotels as options to consider. please let us know if you have any questions or need any help choosing your place of stay. we’ll do our best to steer you in the right direction.
- the Faculty Club (where our reception will be) has 23 small hotel rooms inside the building, and we have set aside a block of 5 rooms for our out-of-town guests. the rate is $120 + tax per night for a Double Occupancy with private bath (1 Queen-sized bed or 2 twin beds). one roll-away can be provided at an additional cost, so each room can hold one additional person maximum.the obvious upside of staying here is the convenience of climbing the stairs to bed once the night is done! but please do note that the rooms are very small, the building is old, and there is no elevator.
- the Bancroft Hotel is across the street from campus on the south side, and rates range from $119 to $159 per night.
- the Claremont Resort & Spa, as the name suggests, offers the most rooms and amenities and is great for those looking to make a weekend of your stay. rates range from $269 to $409 per night.
- Hotel Durant is about halfway between the ceremony and reception sites, and just above Henry’s (bar). rooms start at $169 per night.
- the Berkeley City Club is a state historic landmark building with hotel rooms ranging from $125 to $205 per night.
parking
finding street parking at Cal can be a bear (ha ha ha), so carpooling is always a great option, but if you drive, we recommend parking at:
- Bancroft Parking Structure (open until 2am)
